Another interesting game for ZTE KK (14-11) which hosted in Zalaegerszeg against 4th placed Kormend (17-8). Seventh ranked ZTE KK won 82-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kormend. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-23 Kormend's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 82-73 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Kormend 36-17 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international swingman Tamas Kaman (200-79, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and swingman David Gaspar (193-82) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) responded with 27 points and the other American import power forward Emmanuel Dies (204-77, college: Kansas St., agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Falco-Szova. Kormend at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. ZTE KK will play against higher ranked Atomeromu (#3) in Paks in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kormend will play on the road against FS Debrecen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
