Rather expected game in Lubertsy where 10th ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (4-15) was defeated by eighth ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (7-13) 88-83. It looked good early as Triumph Lyubertsy took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Nizhny Novgorod had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Triumph Lyubertsy was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-88. They outrebounded Triumph Lyubertsy 31-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for BC Nizhny Novgorod especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Triumph Lyubertsy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Artem Yakovenko (206-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Dmitry Golovin (192-88) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international guard Egor Vyaltsev (192-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists and American guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) added 18 points in the effort for Triumph Lyubertsy. Five BC Nizhny Novgorod and four Triumph Lyubertsy players scored in double figures. Triumph Lyubertsy's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BC Nizhny Novgorod moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Krasnie Krilya. Triumph Lyubertsy lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. BC Nizhny Novgorod's next round opponent will be higher ranked CSKA Moscow (#4) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Triumph Lyubertsy will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#6).
