Regular Season Round 24: Khimky - Triumph 101-76

Very expected game in Khimki where 10th ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (4-19) was crushed by third ranked Khimky (15-8) 101-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Khimky led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Triumph Lyubertsy was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and international forward Sergey Monya (203-83) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Khimky players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) with 18 points and the former international guard Egor Vyaltsev (192-85) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimky have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Khimky went down to fourth position due to points difference. Triumph Lyubertsy lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. Khimky will face league's second-placed CSKA Moscow on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Triumph Lyubertsy will play against Dynamo Moscow (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
