Very important is a road loss of third ranked Khimky (15-8) against sixth ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (12-12) on Friday night. Visiting Khimky was defeated by Enisey Krasnoyarsk in a tough game in Krasnoyarsk 88-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Khimky. It looked good early as Khimky took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Enisey Krasnoyarsk had a 23-14 second period charge getting the lead and Khimky was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-93. Enisey Krasnoyarsk made 28-of-35 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Khimky was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Marcus Williams (191-85, college: Connecticut) who scored that evening 14 points and 7 assists and the other American import center Lonny Baxter (204-79, college: Maryland, agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 18 points. Five Enisey Krasnoyarsk players scored in double figures. Even 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by Croatian forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport) did not help to save the game for Khimky. Naturalized American swingman Travis Hansen (198-78, college: BYU) added 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Enisey Krasnoyarsk maintains sixth position with 12-12 record. Khimky at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Enisey Krasnoyarsk will play against Krasnie Krilya (#7) in Samara in the next round. Khimky will play on the road against the league's second-placed CSKA Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
