Very important is a home loss of second ranked Khimky (16-9) against fourth ranked Lokomotiv (17-9) on Monday night. Host Khimky was defeated by Lokomotiv in a tough game in Khimki 75-81. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Khimky won second period 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) chipped in 26 points during the contest. Lokomotiv's coach Kestutis Kemzura allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatian-Bosnian guard Zoran Planinic (199-82) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Croatian forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Lokomotiv moved-up to second place, which they share with CSKA. Khimky at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Lokomotiv will play against BC Nizhny Novgorod (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Khimky will play against Dynamo Moscow (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
