Regular Season Round 1: Asseco Prok. - Galatasaray 72-76

First ever Euroleague win for Galatasaray Medical Park. The Turkish squad, who reached the regular season through qualifications, managed to beat Asseco Prokom on the road 72-76 thanks to great third quarter and well played last 80 seconds of the game. Both teams are placed to Group D, together with Montepaschi, Barca, Olimpija and Unics. Slovenian PG Jaka Lakovic shined last night with 21 points. He made 6 of 7 attempts from behind the arc. Preston Shumpert had 12 points and Luksa Andric helped his team with 11 pts. Donatas Motiejunas (5 rebs) and Adam Hrycaniuk had 15 points each for the hosts. Their third scorer was Oliver Lafayette with 12 pts. Quarters: 19-21, 18-11, 11-27, 24-17. Prokom tied the score to 71-71 with 1:22 left, but Lakovic and Andric paced their team to 71-74 lead after that. Blassingame missed a driving shot but Gordon went 0-for-2 from the foul line with 9.9 seconds to go. Galatasaray fouled on Gee, who missed his second attempt on purpose. Shipp grabbed the rebound and allowed Galatasaray to put the victory on ice. In the next round, Galatasaray will host Unics. Asseco Prokom goes to Barcelona.
