Regular Season Round 5: DKSK - Pecs 2010 60-70

Very expected game when bottom-ranked DKSK (0-5) was defeated at home by leader Pecs 2010 (5-0) 70-60 on Saturday. DKSK was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Pecs 2010 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to DKSK's 32. They outrebounded DKSK 45-26 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Allie Quigley (180-86, college: De Paul) stepped up and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Lynn Murphy (193-89, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian forward Maja Skoric (184-89) scored 15 points. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Pecs 2010. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. DKSK lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Pecs 2010 will face bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (#12) in Budapest in the next round which should be an easy win for them. DKSK will play on the road against MKB Euroleasing in Sopron and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
