There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Dynamo-GUVD (1-3) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (1-3) 66-59 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Dynamo-GUVD won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spartak St.Petersburg forced 20 Dynamo-GUVD turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Yulia Lukina (185-88) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Olga Vorobjova (180-87) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals during the contest. At the losing side international forward Tatiana Petrushina (185-90) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Anastasiya Shilova (185-91) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Dynamo-GUVD's coach Vladimir Koloskov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Spartak St.Petersburg left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Dynamo-GUVD. Spartak St.Petersburg will face league's leader Dynamo Kursk on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
