LNA top team - Helios (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Ovronnaz-Mart. (1-4) in Martigny 82-52. The game without a history. Helios led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ovronnaz-Mart. to just 6 points in second quarter. Helios dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ovronnaz-Mart.'s 30. They outrebounded Ovronnaz-Mart. 34-14 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international forward Jalinka Michaux (175-87) who scored 27 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Hungarian center Andrea Hajdune Csaszar (200-82, college: Kent St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Helios' coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barbados swingman Jamila Griffith (183-82, college: Md-Eastern Shore) produced 33 points (!!!) and Hungarian forward Ildiko Szakacs (187-81) added 5 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Helios. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Ovronnaz-Mart. lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Nyon and Highflyers. Helios will meet at home Highflyers (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ovronnaz-Mart. will have a break next round.
