Regular Season Round 4: Panathinaikos - CSKA 76-78 OT

Very exciting game was played between the reigning Euroleague champion Panathinaikos and former champ CSKA Moscow. The Russian powerhouse grabbed 76-78 OT win to keep the perfect record in Group B, 4-0. PAO dropped to second place with the same score as Unicaja, 3-1. PAO had a chance to win this game in regular time. They had the last possession with 6.3 seconds to go. The ball went to Sarunas Jasikevicius, who drove and dished to Mike Batiste, who missed. Ian Vougioukas missed the follow and the game went to overtime. With 9 second left in OT Nick Calathes scored a free throw and missed the second one, 76-78, but a violation gave the ball to CSKA with 5 seconds left. The guests managed to put the ball inbounds and escape the fouls as the clock ticked away to a new CSKA Moscow win at the always difficult OAKA. Ramunas Siskauskas top-scored in victory with 14 points. Nenad Krstic had double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Viktor Khryapa netted 11 pts. Andrei Kirilenko was the MVP of this game with valuation 22. He had 9 points and 10 rebs. For the Greens, Kostas Kaimakoglou collected 13 points and 5 rebounds. Nick Calathes had 11 pts and 6 rebs, while Mike Batiste stopped to 9 pts and 6 boards. Quarters: 22-19, 19-13, 16-22, 14-17, 5-7. CSKA Moscow will host Unicaja next weekend, while PAO goes to Bamberg.
