Seventh-ranked Vasas (3-5) used its home court advantage to challenge top-ranked SEAT-SZESE (8-0) in Budapest. The visitors from Gyor managed to secure only three-point victory 49-46. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vasas. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-10. But Vasas won second period 13-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SEAT-SZESE dominated on the defensive end, holding Vasas to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 23 Vasas turnovers. Vasas were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Nora Nagy (185-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 8 rebounds and American center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) who added 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Forward Lilla Adamecz (181-92) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Latvian center Anita Teilane (196-85) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Vasas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. SEAT-SZESE have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with UNIQA Eurol. and Pecs 2010. Vasas at the other side keep the seventh place with five games lost. SEAT-SZESE will play against MKB Euroleasing (#3) in Sopron in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vasas will play at home against BEAC-Ujbuda (#12) in Budapest and hope to get back on the winning track.
