Undefeated leader Dynamo Kursk delivered the fifth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (1-4) 79-52. The game without a history. Dynamo Kursk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Dynamo Kursk forced 25 Spartak St.Petersburg turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 22 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian guard Ausra Bimbaite (179-82) who scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Temeka Johnson (160-82, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 16 points. Center Liubov Paskalenko (205-90) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Olga Vorobjova (180-87) added 6 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dynamo Kursk (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row, which they share with Spartak V MR. Spartak St.Petersburg at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Spartak N. and Energy Ivanovo. Dynamo Kursk is looking forward to face Dynamo-GUVD (#6) in Novosibirsk in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Spartak St.Petersburg will have a break next round.
