Regular Season Round 7: Marso NYKK - ZTE KK 82-71

Bottom-ranked ZTE KK (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-71 loss to eleventh ranked Marso NYKK (3-4) in Nyiregyhaza on Friday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Marso NYKK. ZTE KK managed to win fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marso NYKK dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE KK's 36. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Ivan Miskovic (203-84, college: Alaska-Fairb.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Serbian guard Stefan Fekete (188-86, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Four Marso NYKK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Bryquis Perine (190, college: Wisc.-Green Bay, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and swingman David Gaspar (192-82) scored 22 points. ZTE KK's coach Imre Patonay rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marso NYKK moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Soproni and Kaposvari. Defending champion ZTE KK still closes the standings with seven games lost. Marso NYKK will meet higher ranked Atomeromu (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ZTE KK will play against PVSK Pannon (#10) in Pecs and hopes to get finally their first victory.
