SAM Massagno has finally registered their first victory this season after seven consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Nyon, where they defeated BBC Nyon (2-6) 72-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Westher Molteni (200-87) who scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Travele Jones (203, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ryan Dermody (206-87, college: Wyoming) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian swingman Srdjan Zivkovic (200-86, agency: 011 Sports) added 18 points respectively. SAM Massagno (1-7) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Boncourt. Loser BBC Nyon keeps the seventh position with six games lost. SAM Massagno will meet at home higher ranked Monthey (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBC Nyon will play against the league's second-placed Lugano Tigers where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
