Regular Season Round 7: FS Debrecen - Kormend 60-84

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kormend (6-1) smashed on the road 12th ranked FS Debrecen (1-6) 84-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. FS Debrecen was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kormend shot 24 for 32 from the free-throw line, while FS Debrecen only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded FS Debrecen 46-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) fired 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. American point guard Justin Ingram (185-85, college: Toledo) produced 24 points and forward Viktor Vas (200-89) added 8 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kormend keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. FS Debrecen lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with six games lost. Kormend will face Szedeak (#11) in Szeged in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FS Debrecen will play against Jaszberenyi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
