Regular Season Round 5: CSKA - Unics 78-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked CSKA Moscow as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CSKA Moscow defeated 4th placed Unics Kazan at home 78-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Unics Kazan. Unics Kazan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. CSKA Moscow looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Unics Kazan's players. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Milos Teodosic (195-87) who scored 19 points and 6 assists. International center Andrey Vorontsevich (204-87) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Terrell Lyday (190-79, college: BYU) produced 22 points and American-Bosnian guard Henry Domercant (192-80, college: E.Illinois) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA Moscow have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Unics Kazan at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Spartak SP. Unics Kazan will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. CSKA Moscow will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Khimky in Khimki.
