Rather expected game when 13th ranked Jaszberenyi (2-8) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Soproni (4-6) 90-83. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jaszberenyi won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Soproni won last quarter 33-28. American guard Janou Rubin (193-82, college: UCLA) notched 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Nigerian center Benson Egemonye (207-83, college: Niagara) supported him with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Soproni players scored in double figures. Even 32 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists by American guard Jibril Hodges (188-84, college: Long Beach St.) did not help to save the game for Jaszberenyi. Power forward Balint Horti (206-89, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Jaszberenyi's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Soproni moved-up to eighth place, which they share with PVSK Pannon. Jaszberenyi lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Soproni's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kaposvari (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Jaszberenyi will play against Falco-Szova (#3) in Szombathely.
