Triumph Lyubertsy's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Lokomotiv (3-3) 89-83. Lokomotiv was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 30-17 third quarter run of Triumph Lyubertsy. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-11. Triumph Lyubertsy forced 21 Lokomotiv turnovers. Lokomotiv was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was French center Ali Traore (207-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Beo Basket) with 17 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Triumph Lyubertsy (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Enisey. Lokomotiv at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Triumph Lyubertsy will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#8) at home in the next round. Lokomotiv will have a break next round.
