Regular Season Round 10: Albacomp - PVSK Pannon 92-68

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Albacomp as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Falco-Szova) loss. Albacomp smashed 8th ranked PVSK Pannon in Szekesfehervar 92-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of PVSK Pannon. It looked good early as PVSK Pannon took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Albacomp had a 23-17 second period charge getting the lead and PVSK Pannon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-92. Albacomp dominated on the defensive end, holding PVSK Pannon to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to PVSK Pannon's 26. They outrebounded PVSK Pannon 39-23 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Albacomp players scored in double figures. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Jara Doyne (193-84, college: Mississippi) replied with 20 points and 5 assists and Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) added 22 points in the effort for PVSK Pannon. Albacomp (9-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Kormend. PVSK Pannon at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Soproni. PVSK Pannon will play next round against FS Debrecen trying to get back on the winning streak. Albacomp will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked ZTE KK at Zalaegerszeg.
