Important game to mention about took place in Saransk. Sixth ranked Severstal (6-7) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (3-10) 68-67 in the fight for the sixth place. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 20-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by point guard Andrey Kuzemkin (183-87) who scored that evening 16 points and power forward Aleksey Tsvetkov (207-84) supported him with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Severstal's coach Sergei Mokin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 26 points and 4 assists by guard Anton Ageev (192-84) did not help to save the game for Ruskon-Mordovia. Guard Sergey Chernov (187-86) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Severstal maintains sixth position with 6-7 record. Ruskon-Mordovia lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Spartak V.. Severstal will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ruskon-Mordovia will play again at home against Severstal (#6) in Cherepovec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
