The game in Surgut was also quite interesting. 4th placed Rjazan (8-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Universitet-Yugra (9-5). Universitet-Yugra defeated Rjazan 71-61 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rjazan. The game was mostly controlled by Universitet-Yugra. Rjazan managed to win second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Universitet-Yugra forced 20 Rjazan turnovers. Guard Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Denis Hloponin (206-81) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Aleksei Vzdykhalkin (190-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Vladimir Kazakov (198-82) scored 15 points. Four Rjazan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universitet-Yugra moved-up to third place. Loser Rjazan keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with TEMP-SUMZ. Universitet-Yugra will meet at home league's second-placed Ataman in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rjazan will play against TEMP-SUMZ Revda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
