Regular Season Round 17: TEMP-SUMZ - Ataman 70-73

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Superlaegue took place in Revda. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed TEMP-SUMZ Revda (8-6) to second ranked Ataman (11-3) 73-70 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of TEMP-SUMZ Revda. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But TEMP-SUMZ Revda won second period 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by TEMP-SUMZ Revda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was center Andrey Voron (208-87) who scored 17 points. point guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) chipped in 14 points. Power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (208-84) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Stanislav Sotnikov (200-85, agency: RIZO) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Ataman maintains second place with 11-3 record having just -9 point less than leader Ural Ekaterinb. TEMP-SUMZ Revda at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Rjazan. Ataman are looking forward to face Universitet-Yugra (#3) in Surgut in the next round, which may be the game of the day. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play at home against Rjazan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
