Regular Season Round 12: Marso NYKK - Soproni 98-64

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Soproni (4-8) was smashed by twelfth ranked Marso NYKK (4-9) in Nyiregyhaza 98-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Marso NYKK. Soproni was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marso NYKK shot 62.1 percent from the field. They also forced 21 Soproni turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. It was a good game for Serbian guard Stefan Fekete (188-86, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Montenegrin forward Damjan Kandic (208-84) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Marso NYKK players scored in double figures. Marso NYKK's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Janou Rubin (193-82, college: UCLA) replied with 17 points and the former international swingman Andras Molnar (195-83, agency: TSS Management) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Soproni. Marso NYKK moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Soproni dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Marso NYKK will have a break next round.
