Regular Season Round 19: Univ.Surgut - Ataman 77-90

An interesting game for Ataman (12-4) which played road game in Surgut against 3rd placed Universitet-Yugra (10-6). Second ranked Ataman managed to get a 13-point victory 90-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Universitet-Yugra. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 45-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ataman made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Sergei Vorotnikov (194-78) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Ataman players scored in double figures. Lithuanian guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) added 18 points in the effort for Universitet-Yugra. Universitet-Yugra's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Ataman maintains second place with 12-4 record having just -9 point less than leader Ural Ekaterinb. Universitet-Yugra at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with TEMP-SUMZ. Ataman are looking forward to face Rjazan (#6) on the road in the next round. Universitet-Yugra will play against Severstal in Cherepovec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
