Regular Season Round 13: PVSK Pannon - Soproni 74-72

The most exciting game of round 13 in the A Division took place in Pecs. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Soproni (4-9) to eighth ranked PVSK Pannon (7-6) 74-72 on Wednesday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American swingman Jara Doyne (193-84, college: Mississippi) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian center Benson Egemonye (207-83, college: Niagara) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Janou Rubin (193-82, college: UCLA) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Soproni players scored in double figures. PVSK Pannon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Soproni lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Marso NYKK. PVSK Pannon are looking forward to face higher ranked Falco-Szova (#3) in Szombathely in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soproni will play at home against ZTE KK (#14) in Zalaegerszeg and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
