Important game to mention about took place in St.Petersburg. Eighth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (3-8) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Spartak Noginsk (4-7) 65-63 on Sunday evening. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 23-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for guard Olga Vorobjova (180-87) who led her team to a victory with 21 points. Center Anastasiya Loginova (190-90) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Montenegrin guard Snezana Aleksic (173-89) replied with 18 points and Varvara Psareva (192-85) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Noginsk. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spartak St.Petersburg moved-up to seventh place. Spartak Noginsk at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Spartak St.Petersburg will play against league's second-placed UMMC Ekaterinburg on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Spartak Noginsk will play against Dynamo-GUVD (#9) in Novosibirsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
