Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Rjazan (9-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Ataman (13-5) 77-71 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Ataman led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rjazan was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Nikolay Krylov (211-81) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Aleksei Vzdykhalkin (190-85, agency: Interperformances) with 13 points and forward Vladimir Ivlev (207-90) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Ataman maintains second place with 13-5 record having just -12 point less than leader Ural Ekaterinb. Loser Rjazan dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
