Real Madrid grabbed 80-81 victory in a heartbreaking thriller against Unicaja on the Thursday night. In very exciting finish, Sergio Rodriguez made one of his two free throws setting the score to 78-79 with 28 seconds to go. Luka Zoric responded with a lay-up and there was something less than 10 seconds remaining. Sergio Rodriguez drove and kicked out to Nikola Mirotic, who dribbled and threw up a frantic shot that hit the target with half a second left to snatch a nail-biting win. Real Madrid joined Montepaschi with 1-0 record in Group F, while Unicaja and Bilbao have 0-1. Kyle Singler top-scored for Real Madrid with 13 points, while Ante Tomic (7 rebs) and game hero Nikola Mirotic (6 rebs) had 12 points each. Sergio Rodriguez helped his team with 11 points and 9 assists. At the other side, Luka Zoric was great with 32 points and 9 rebounds (valuation 32!). Kristaps Valters (7 as) and Berni Rodriguez stopped to 9 pts each. Quarters: 20-15, 19-22, 19-25, 22-19. Real will host Montepaschi in the next round, while Unicaja goes to Bilbao.
