The most exciting game of round 17 in the LNA took place in Monthey. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Monthey (10-5) to fifth ranked SAV Vacallo (9-6) 62-60 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 13-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. SAV Vacallo dominated on the defensive end, holding Monthey to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American guard Rickey Gibson (191-84, college: Stillman) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Ian Boylan (197-83, college: CS Northridge) responded with 19 points, 7 assists and 6 steals and the other American import guard Kelvin Parker (183-82, college: NW Missouri St.) scored 18 points. SAV Vacallo maintains fifth place with 9-6 record. Monthey at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. SAV Vacallo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Fribourg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will play against Boncourt and is hoping to win this game.
