Top 16 Round 2: Maccabi T-A - FCB Regal 57-71

Regal Barca dominated in the last quarter to take 57-71 victory against Maccabi Electra on Thursday in Tel-Aviv. The reigning Spanish champion now has 2-0 record in Group H of the Euroleague Top 16, while Maccabi slipped to 1-1. Maccabi shares the second place with Bennet Cantu. Erazem Lorbek shined for the guests with 18 points. Fran Vazquez followed him with 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Joe Ingles also secured a great help adding 13 points and 9 rebs. In the loosing squad, Keith Langford was better than the others with 17 points. Demond Mallet and Richard Hendrix (8 rebs) netted 12 and 8 points respectively. Maccabi had 49-47 lead at the beginning of the last period, but then visitors exploded making 6-15 run for 55-62 lead with 3 minutes remaining. Maccabi was threatening through David Blu, but Ingles and Lorbek helped Barca to keep the safe margin for rest of the way. Quarters: 19-12, 10-17, 13-15, 15-27. Next week, Barca will host Zalgiris, while Maccabi goes to Cantu.
