Regular Season Round 18: SAM Massagno - BBC Nyon 77-55

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked BBC Nyon (2-14) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked SAM Massagno (2-14) 77-55 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when SAM Massagno's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-10 extending their advantage to 22 points. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. SAM Massagno forced 22 BBC Nyon turnovers. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin power forward Danilo Mitrovic (208-84) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American Travele Jones (203-88, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four SAM Massagno players scored in double figures. SAM Massagno's coach Milutin Nikolic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Nathan Connolly (196-77, college: St.Rose, NY) who recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Ryan Dermody (206-87, college: Wyoming) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. SAM Massagno moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated BBC Nyon. BBC Nyon lost tenth consecutive game.
