Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Unics Kazan (4-3) won against at home bottom-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (1-8) 84-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Unics Kazan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 31-of-37 free shots (83.8 percent) during the game, while BC Nizhny Novgorod only scored eight points from the stripe. BC Nizhny Novgorod was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Belarusian forward Vladimir Veremeenko (208-84) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. The former international forward Semen Antonov (202-89) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Vadim Panin (203-84, agency: Alti Sport) added 17 points in the effort for BC Nizhny Novgorod. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unics Kazan moved-up to sixth place. BC Nizhny Novgorod lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Unics Kazan will face higher ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (#3) in Lubertsy in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
