There was no surprise when 7th ranked Boncourt (4-12) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Monthey (11-5) 80-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 23-5 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Monthey dominated on the defensive end, holding Boncourt to just 5 points in third and fourth quarters. It was a great shooting night for Monthey especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward George Odufuwa (203-88, college: N.Texas, agency: New Trend Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Croatian-Slovenian center Martin Mihajlovic (208-81) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Monthey players scored in double figures. Monthey's coach Petar Aleksic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Ivorian forward Ismael N'Diaye (197-82, college: FIU) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Monthey moved-up to third place, which they share with Geneve Lions. Boncourt lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost.
