Rather expected game in Lubertsy where 6th ranked Unics Kazan (4-4) was defeated by third ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (6-3) 71-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Triumph Lyubertsy. Unics Kazan managed to win fourth quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Dmitry Kulagin (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) who added 15 points during the contest. Four Triumph Lyubertsy players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-FYR Macedonian forward Michael Wilkinson (204-81, college: Wisconsin, agency: Interperformances) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Petr Samoylenko (185-77) scored 10 points. Unics Kazan's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Triumph Lyubertsy have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-3 record having four points less than leader CSKA. Unics Kazan at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Triumph Lyubertsy are looking forward to face Spartak-Prim. (#6) in Vladivostok in the next round. Unics Kazan will play on the road against Enisey Krasnoyarsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
