Rather expected game in Chiasso where 8th ranked BBC Nyon (2-16) was defeated by fifth ranked SAV Vacallo (10-7) 79-61. The game without a history. SAV Vacallo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. SAV Vacallo outrebounded BBC Nyon 37-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by naturalized Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (206-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Rickey Gibson (191-84, college: Stillman) supported him with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Four SAV Vacallo players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Kramer Knutson (205-89, college: Portland) did not help to save the game for BBC Nyon. His fellow American import forward Ryan Dermody (206-87, college: Wyoming) added 13 points and 5 assists for the guests. SAV Vacallo maintains fifth position with 10-7 record. BBC Nyon lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with SAM Massagno. SAV Vacallo will play against league's leader Lugano Tigers on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BBC Nyon will play against Monthey (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
