Bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked BSE-FCSM in Budapest 70-61. BSE-FCSM trailed by 23 points after 3 quarters before a 27-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-70 at the end of the game. BEAC-Ujbuda dominated on the defensive end, holding BSE-FCSM to just 7 points in first quarter. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by BSE-FCSM helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Szidonia Katona (182-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points. Guard Emese Szasz (170-88) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four BEAC-Ujbuda players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Dora Szondy (173-88) responded with 18 points and 7 steals and the former international swingman Andrea Karolyi (183-75) scored 16 points and 4 assists. BSE-FCSM's coach Artur Puskas rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. BEAC-Ujbuda (2-17) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated BSE-FCSM. BEAC-Ujbuda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Budapest Vasas.
