Regular Season Round 12: CSKA - Lokomotiv 87-70

The game between Top Four teams took place in Moscow. First ranked host CSKA Moscow (9-1) defeated 4th ranked Lokomotiv (5-5) 87-70. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Moscow. Lokomotiv managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Andrey Vorontsevich (204-87) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Andrei Kirilenko (205-81) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman K.C. Rivers (196-87, college: Clemson) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Nikita Shabalkin (205-86) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA Moscow have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. Lokomotiv at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Spartak SP and Spartak-Prim.. CSKA Moscow are looking forward to face Triumph Lyubertsy (#3) in Lubertsy in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lokomotiv will play at home against BC Nizhny Novgorod and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
