No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Spartak Noginsk (6-10) beat at home bottom-ranked Energy Ivanovo (1-14) 67-50. It looked good early as Energy Ivanovo took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Spartak Noginsk had a 17-11 second period charge getting the lead and Energy Ivanovo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-67. Spartak Noginsk dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Energy Ivanovo's 26. Spartak Noginsk forced 21 Energy Ivanovo turnovers and outrebounded them 47-22 including a 33-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spartak Noginsk players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Varvara Psareva (192-85) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. Tatyana Abrikosova (179-89) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Milana Sumets (180-88, agency: LBM Management) produced 15 points and 4 steals and guard Kseniya Zezina (176-87) added 6 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartak Noginsk maintains sixth position with 6-10 record. Energy Ivanovo lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Spartak Noginsk will have a break next round. Energy Ivanovo will play on the road against Spartak St.Petersburg (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
