Sixth-ranked Rjazan (10-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (21-4) on Monday. The visitors from Ekaterinburg managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 24-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Rjazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
