Regular Season Round 22: Kecskemeti - Falco-Szova 74-82

A Division top team - Falco-Szova (19-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Kecskemeti (13-9) 82-74. It looked good early as Kecskemeti took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Falco-Szova had a 21-15 second period charge getting the lead and Kecskemeti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-82. Falco-Szova shot 60.4 percent from the field and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Falco-Szova outrebounded Kecskemeti 32-19 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kecskemeti was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson) scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Falco-Szova players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian swingman Marko Derasimovic (200-84) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Krisztian Wittmann (185-85, agency: FCM) scored 9 points and 4 steals. Kecskemeti's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Falco-Szova maintains first position with 19-3 record. Kecskemeti at the other side keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Falco-Szova will play against Kormend (#4) at home in the next round. Kecskemeti will play against Szolnok in Szolnok and hopes to get back on the winning track.
