Third-ranked Pecs 2010 (18-4) gave a tough game to top-ranked MKB Euroleasing (22-0) in Sopron on Saturday. MKB Euroleasing managed to secure only two-point victory 57-55. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-12. But Pecs 2010 won second period 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 29 personal fouls committed by Pecs 2010 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ukrainian forward Olexandra Kurasova (186-86) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Australian swingman Hanna Zavecz (182-85) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. MKB Euroleasing's coach Norbert Szekely used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Allie Quigley (180-86, college: De Paul) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Stefanie Lynn Murphy (193-89, college: Boston Coll.) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. MKB Euroleasing have an impressive 20-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-0 record. Defending champion Pecs 2010 keeps the third place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
