Regular Season Round 15: Unics - CSKA 57-75

PBL top team - CSKA Moscow (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat sixth ranked Unics Kazan (5-6) 75-57. It looked good early as Unics Kazan took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CSKA Moscow had a 18-10 second period charge getting the lead and Unics Kazan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-75. CSKA Moscow forced 21 Unics Kazan turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Andrei Kirilenko (205-81) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Ramunas Siskauskas (197-78) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four CSKA Moscow players scored in double figures. The former international forward Kelly McCarty (201-75, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Avi Zilberman) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American-Bosnian guard Henry Domercant (192-80, college: E.Illinois) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Unics Kazan in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CSKA Moscow have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Unics Kazan at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Spartak-Prim.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
