Leader Lugano Tigers delivered the nineteenth victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Starwings (9-14) 111-57 in Basel. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Starwings. The game without a history. Lugano Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Starwings' 36. Lugano Tigers forced 19 Starwings turnovers and outrebounded them 48-25 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Dusan Mladjan (199-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. Montenegrin forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84) contributed with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) answered with 14 points and American guard Brandon Jenkins (190-85, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points in the effort for Starwings. Starwings' coach Danijel Eric gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-3 record. Starwings at the other side keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Lugano Tigers will play against league's second-placed Monthey at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Starwings will play against SAV Vacallo (#5) in Chiasso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
