Regular Season Round 27: Geneve Lions - Boncourt 92-68
Date: March 24, 2012
Rather predictable result when third ranked Geneve Lions (18-6) rolled over at home 7th ranked Boncourt (7-17) 92-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Geneve Lions. Boncourt managed to win fourth quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Boncourt 40-26 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Geneve Lions especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Naturalized Senegalese forward Jules Aw (200-86) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Geneve Lions' coach Nebojsa Lazarevic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) answered with 26 points and Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (203-85, college: Purdue) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Boncourt. Five Geneve Lions and four Boncourt players scored in double figures. Geneve Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-6 record having just two points less than leader Lugano Tigers. Boncourt at the other side keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost.
