Regular Season Round 24: Kormend - Kecskemeti 73-70

Sixth-ranked Kecskemeti (13-11) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Kormend (18-6) on Wednesday. Kormend managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 18-8. But Kecskemeti won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Kecskemeti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Istvan Nemeth (190-79, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian swingman Marko Derasimovic (200-84) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: FCM) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Kormend maintains fourth position with 18-6 record. Kecskemeti lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Kormend are looking forward to face higher ranked Szolnok (#3) in Szolnok in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kecskemeti will play at home against Jaszberenyi and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
