Spartak Moscow Region recorded the first win in Euroleague Final Eight Group B. They overcame ambitious Wisla Can-Pack in Istanbul tonight. Becky Hammon stepped up with 16 points to lead the winners. Wisla confirmed their ambitions early in the game. They tipped off the action with a stunning 16:2 run. Spartak came back to life late in the period cutting the deficit to 7 points 16:23. Spartak used an 8:0 run midway through the second quarter to narrow the gap to a single point 24:25. But Wisla quickly boosted the margin back to 6 points 35:29 at halftime. Skerovic and Petrovic both connected from beyond the arc to ensure a 47:46 lead for Spartak midway through the third quarter. Petrovic capped the period with a jumper as the Russian team enjoyed a 52:51 lead. Becky Hammon and Belyakova quickly stretched the margin at 9-point mark at the start of the fourth term. From that point on Spartak dominated the game. They kept Wisla at bay and steadily marched to the win. Candice Dupree posted 15 points, while Seimone Augustus added 14 points in the victory. Ewelina Kobryn responded with game-high 19 points for Wisla. Anke De Mondt added 14 points in the loss.
