The game in Saransk was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Ataman (18-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (12-16). Ataman managed to secure a 6-point victory 78-72. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ruskon-Mordovia won fourth quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Ataman especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a great evening for point guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. The former international guard Sergei Vorotnikov (194-78) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Ataman players scored in double figures. Forward Pavel Aghapov (202-86, agency: RU-Basket Management) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (203-84) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Newly promoted Ataman maintains second place with 18-10 record having just -12 point less than leader Ural Ekaterinb. Ruskon-Mordovia at the other side keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. Ataman will play against TEMP-SUMZ Revda (#4) at home in the next round. Ruskon-Mordovia will play against Severstal in Cherepovec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
