No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Rjazan (12-14) beat on the road bottom-ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (6-22) 99-90. The guests were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 30-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Rjazan made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for forward Oleg Bartunov (197-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Andrey Kirdyachkin (207-90) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. Center Dmitriy Ponosov (220-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and guard Pavel Aleksandrov (196-89) scored 18 points and 9 assists. Five Rjazan and four Sojuz Zaretchny players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rjazan maintains sixth place with 12-14 record. Sojuz Zaretchny lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Rjazan will play against higher ranked Universitet-Yugra (#3) in Surgut in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sojuz Zaretchny will play on the road against Spartak V. (#8) in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
