PBL top team - CSKA Moscow (13-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (2-13) 97-53. The game without a history. CSKA Moscow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while BC Nizhny Novgorod only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded BC Nizhny Novgorod 42-28 including a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. CSKA Moscow players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. BC Nizhny Novgorod was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) notched 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Viktor Khryapa (204-82) supported him with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 9 points and 10 rebounds by the former international Semen Antonov (202-89, agency: RU-Basket Management) did not help to save the game for BC Nizhny Novgorod. Serbian guard Ivan Paunic (194-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Moscow have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-1 record. BC Nizhny Novgorod at the other side dropped to the bottom place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Enisey. CSKA Moscow will play against Spartak-Prim. (#7) in Vladivostok in the next round where they are favorite. BC Nizhny Novgorod will play at home against Triumph Lyubertsy in Lubertsy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
