Lokomotiv (#4) was upset in Kazan by seventh ranked Unics Kazan 101-75. The game without a history. Unics Kazan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Lokomotiv only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Lokomotiv 45-32 including a 37-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Unics Kazan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Belarusian forward Vladimir Veremeenko (208-84, agency: RU-Basket Management) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American guard Terrell Lyday (190-79, college: BYU) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) who recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Polish forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St., agency: Stanley International) added 15 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Unics Kazan. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Spartak-Prim. Lokomotiv lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Spartak SP.
